7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., plus mandatory overtime as needed. General Description This position is responsible for fabricating metal parts to the highest standards of quality, efficiency and safety. Must be able to read and work from engineering prints, set-up machine and run job meeting quality and efficiency standards. This position is responsible to rotate within the Work Centers and Fabrication as needed. Principle Responsibilities Operate fabricating machines, including but not limited to; saw, drill press, brake press, punch press and shear. Ensure proper set-up for each job based on information contained in shop pack including; cover worksheet, bill of material, engineering blue print, set-up worksheet and quality worksheet. Read and understand engineering prints, use caliber and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of work. Perform set-up and quality checks. Complete sign off worksheets to ensure accuracy of work. Meet efficiency goals to ensure job is completed on time. Contribute to implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in cross-training others in the department to improve efficiency and knowledge of team. Maintain a clean and safe work area and maintain equipment in proper condition. Participate in safety trainings and ensure compliance of all Company safety standards. Be an effective team-player. Interact and work cross-functionally with others. Exemplify a professional work demeanor upholding the Company Core Values. All other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Excellent attendance, dependable, on-time ready to work Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with others to foster a positive work environment. Ability to read and work from engineering prints. Proficient in metrology and the use of various inspection devices to measure within 1/32 of an inch. CNC Experience (perferred) Education and Work Experience High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Experience in a production environment with a good working knowledge of manufacturing industry standards. Physical Demands/Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and to use hands and arms to move parts. The employee is frequently required to walk, and is occasionally required to stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Ear protection is required where designated.
