Job Description

BMT Aerospace is a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturing machining company seeking experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with Knowledge of Haas Controls and Fanuc /Dixie for Night Shift.. We offer competitive wages and benefits (including Blue Cross medical) along with a 10% night shift premium. Our clean and air-conditioned facility is located in Fraser, Michigan. 2nd Shift is Monday - Friday from 5:30 pm - 4:30 am

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking skilled Machists to operate CNC Lathes to exact tolerances and dimensions with minimal supervision. Responsible for the set-up, adjustment, and operation of CNC Lathes on parts of varying complexity Uses computer printouts for the proper sequencing of machine set-ups, selecting and placing tooling and fixtures, establishing proper feeds, speeds, and cycles for the machines Makes use of a wide variety of precision measuring instruments such as Micrometers, Height Gages, Bore Gages etc. to check own work Perform routine machine maintenance; Monitor tool wear, change tools and inserts as required Adjust basic offsets to maintain part integrity; Demonstrate ability to hold very tight tolerances and meet production standards Edits and proofs new program tapes and sharpens own tools are required Demonstrate a positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment Work with complete integrity and compliance to company rules and regulations Be part of continuous improvement efforts to improve output, quality, costs and delivery Cross-train and acquire new skills on multiple types of equipment Responds to special requests from supervision as required and all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

5 years minimum experience in precision machining Experience reading blueprint drawings, job orders, tooling instructions or standard charts to determine specification procedures Ability to understand manufacturing programs Experienced in set-up through operation Experience with Fanuc series Oi, Fanuc 21i and Haas Controls a plus Must be able to work overtime
