Punch Press Operator

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate punch press machines to produce precise metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production, efficient workflow, and adherence to safety standards. Duties Set up and operate various punch press machines, including stamping presses and CNC-controlled equipment, ensuring proper tooling and safety measures are in place. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate metal parts. Adjust machine settings such as pressure, stroke, and die alignment to meet production requirements. Perform routine maintenance on punch press machinery, including lubrication, calibration, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Collaborate with team members on fabrication processes, tooling adjustments, and assembly tasks as needed. Requirements Proven experience operating punch press machines or similar manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues efficiently. Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, and electrical discharge machining is highly desirable. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately; knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) is a plus. Skilled in using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings. Experience with fabrication tools including welding equipment, press brake machines, stamping presses, cranes, and sheet metal handling tools. Knowledge of safety procedures related to machining operations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a manufacturing setting while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
