Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist/Toolmaker to join our dynamic prototype shop for automation and robotic equipment . Primarily for replacement parts, and or redesigning new parts . In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and machine components to support our production processes. Your expertise in manual machining techniques and tooling will ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about craftsmanship and precision engineering. Responsibilities Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining equipment to produce or repair tooling and components with tight tolerances. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise fabrication. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to verify dimensions during manufacturing processes.. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, measurements, and inspection reports for quality control purposes. Collaborate with engineering teams to modify designs or troubleshoot tooling issues . Conduct routine maintenance on machining equipment and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations. Qualifications Strong mechanical knowledge with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling fabrication. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints; familiarity with GD&T principles. Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges. Ability to interpret schematics and electrical diagrams; basic understanding of electronics is advantageous. Excellent math skills for precise measurements and calculations required in machining tasks.
