Orchid Orthopedic Solutions is seeking a CNC Machinist III to set up and operate multi-axis CNC equipment to produce precision orthopedic implants and instruments. In this advanced role, you will interpret complex blueprints, select tooling, set offsets, and optimize machining parameters to meet tight tolerances and stringent medical device quality standards. You will perform in-process inspection using gauges and measurement tools, troubleshoot machining issues, and make program and tooling adjustments. This position mentors junior machinists, supports continuous improvement, adheres to FDA/ISO requirements, and collaborates with engineering to improve manufacturability and process capability. Responsibilities Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines to produce precision orthopedic components Interpret complex blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements Select and install tooling, set offsets, and optimize machining parameters Perform in-process and final inspection using precision measuring instruments Troubleshoot machining issues and make program and tooling adjustments Maintain tight tolerances and comply with FDA/ISO quality standards Document production, inspections, and machine settings per procedures Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives Collaborate with engineering on manufacturability and process improvements Mentor and support junior machinists on setup, operation, and quality practices Required Skills CNC machine setup and operation Multi-axis machining (3-5 axis) G-code editing and basic programming Blueprint reading and GD&TUse of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMM) Tool selection and optimization Fixture setup and workholding In-process inspection and quality documentation Troubleshooting machining issues Knowledge of
