In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC machines to produce precision metal components for the aerospace markets that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint interpretation, and CNC programming will be essential to ensure efficient production processes. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling machines and manual machining equipment to produce complex aerospace parts. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing. Perform machine setup, calibration, and tooling changes efficiently to minimize downtime. Conduct quality inspections using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions. Troubleshoot machining issues, make necessary adjustments, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to maintain operational efficiency. Document production activities, inspection results, and any deviations from specifications for quality control records. Background check Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code with experience in CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Skilled in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming for toolpath creation. Knowledge of machining tools, manual machining techniques, and machine setup procedures. Familiarity with measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments for quality control. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes including grinding, boring, drilling, and assembly. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately while applying GD&T standards. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances required during machining operations. Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus but not mandatory. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues swiftly. Excellent manual dexterity with hand tools and power tools used in machine setup and maintenance. Experience and knowledge always a plus and we are willing to train.
