Job Description

A CNC Mill Machinist must be able to independently produce machined parts to print tolerances by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine and inspect parts with precision hand gages; maintain quality, safety, and cleanliness standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies. Responsibilities Plans machining by studying blueprints, materials, specifications, assembly drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances. Programs lathes and mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool and work offsets, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards. Maintains specifications by observing, drilling, milling, and turning operations and adjusting as necessary. Maintains safe and cleanly operations Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Fills out and maintains all paperwork associated with job Design and fabricate custom tools and fixtures Verifies and calibrates tools per policy Skills, abilities, knowledge Willing to work with and help others. Must be able to tolerate a manufacturing environment. Good vision abilities. Able to read and interpret instructions and blue prints with proper application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Perform normal math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Physically able to perform the work of the trade, i.e., stand for lengthy periods of time, lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds, able to hear and talk around machinery, be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 3
years experience as a prototype machinist Mechanical aptitude proven by testing or experience. Adequate math and reading skills used in the manufacturing process. Knowledge of ISO guidelines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience running Milltronics, Manual Mills, Quasar, Proto Trak lathes Experience in Tool & Die, Welding, and Surface grinding Experience with Mastercam software and solid works Jorneyman's Card or equivalent experience.
