In this role, you'll support the production of high-precision transmission components used in U.S. Army tracked vehicles , working alongside experienced Senior CNC Machinists while continuing to develop your machining skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist with foundational CNC experience who is looking to expand their knowledge of CNC setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and advanced machining operations in a highly technical manufacturing environment.

Assist Senior Machinists with machine setups, tooling, workholding, offsets, and production changeovers. Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and production specifications. Operate CNC equipment using Fanuc, Mazatrol, and/or Siemens Sinumerik controls. Monitor machining operations and make basic tool offset and cutter compensation adjustments as directed. Monitor tool condition and wear and replace tooling as needed. Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment. Identify and report dimensional, tooling, machine, or quality issues to the Senior Machinist or Supervisor. Perform routine machine care, including cleaning, lubrication, chip removal, and basic preventative maintenance. Assist Senior Machinists with troubleshooting machining and production issues. Develop knowledge of CNC programs, tooling, feeds and speeds, and machining processes. Follow established manufacturing processes, safety procedures, quality requirements, and work instructions. Maintain accurate production and inspection records. Work closely with Senior Machinists, CNC Programmers, Engineers, Production Planners, and other team members to meet production requirements. Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities. Continue developing skills in CNC setup, troubleshooting, tooling, and advanced machining operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Required High school diploma or equivalent. 1-3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience operating CNC machines and assisting with basic setups, tooling, and tool offsets. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Basic understanding of GD&T and machining tolerances. Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Basic understanding of G-Code and CNC programs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work effectively within a team environment. Ability to follow all applicable safety requirements and machining procedures. Willingness to learn and develop advanced CNC machining skills. Preferred Technical certification or associate degree in machining or a related field. Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, and/or Siemens Sinumerik controls. Experience with Makino, Mazak, Heller, or similar machining centers. Experience machining aluminum, mild steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel. Familiarity with Zoller/TMS software. Experience with Fastems automation and MMS software.
