$28 - $32/hour | Multiple shift availability We are currently seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist for a direct hire role with a premier manufacturing organization. Utilize your CNC background in a high-precision environment, where you will manage sophisticated multi-turret, multi-axis machinery to craft intricate aerospace parts from challenging exotic materials. About the Position As a Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for the setup, adjustment, and operation of multi-axis and multi-turret CNC lathes. Your primary objective is to manufacture aerospace components that meet rigorous quality standards, ensuring consistent production while optimizing material usage and operational efficiency. Core Responsibilities Configure, calibrate, and run various multi-axis and multi-turret CNC lathe systems. Interpret complex CNC programming for twin-turret equipment utilizing live tooling. Analyze blueprints, technical layouts, and GD&T specifications to ensure production accuracy. Adjust feed and speed parameters to maintain strict tolerances across diverse metals, including exotic alloys. Manage the setup, adjustment, and replacement of tooling components. Oversee machining cycles to ensure that quality and output benchmarks are consistently achieved. Help maintain high quality standards by recording SPC data using CMMs, comparators, and other inspection tools. Execute secondary tasks, such as deburring, during active machine cycles to improve overall throughput. Perform routine machine maintenance and report any significant mechanical issues to management. Ensure inventory accuracy and proper storage of all materials and components. Adhere to all established operational, setup, and safety protocols. Contribute to a safer and more efficient workplace by maintaining a clean environment. Propose improvements to current setup procedures and general manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-shift personnel and support teams to meet departmental productivity and quality targets. Complete additional tasks as directed by your supervisor. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent educational background. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience operating CNC lathes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting CNC programs and operational documentation. Advanced skills in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Strong knowledge of machining mathematics, measurement techniques, and CNC workflows. Comprehensive understanding of tool setup and pre-setting requirements. Ability to work autonomously and execute complex operations with minimal oversight. Demonstrated history of meeting established production and quality benchmarks. Strong mechanical aptitude for complex machinery. Effective troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities. Solid understanding of machine-shop safety standards and regulations. Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft software. Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand for long durations in a shop environment. Preferred Qualifications Two-year degree in Machining Technology or a completed trade-school program in CNC machining. Direct experience with multi-axis and multi-turret CNC lathe systems. Practical knowledge of twin-turret machines and live tooling applications. Experience producing high-precision components for the aerospace sector. Background working with exotic alloy materials. Familiarity with SPC methodologies and inspection tools like Trimos, CMMs, and comparators. Are You Ready to Contribute? Compensation:
