Onsite Job Description Job Description:
Set up and operate Swiss-type CNC machines in a productive and safe manner to produce precision parts that meet Client's quality standards while maintaining productivity, efficiency, and minimum material waste.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate Swiss-type CNC machines to produce precision components.
Read and understand blueprints, layouts, routings, and engineering drawings.
Demonstrate proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Load and adjust tooling, offsets, and machine parameters as required.
Read, understand, and make basic adjustments to CNC programs.
Perform machine setups, tool changes, and production changeovers.
Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and production requirements.
Perform in-process inspections using gages, comparators, CMM, Trimos, and related measurement equipment.
Collect and input SPC data as required.
Perform deburring and other secondary operations during machine cycle time.
Identify machining problems and troubleshoot tooling, dimensional, and machine issues.
Perform daily machine maintenance and report maintenance issues beyond operator capability.
Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure parts and materials are properly stored.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all applicable safety procedures.
Work as a team member to support production, quality, and productivity goals across shifts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
2-year degree or technical education in Machine Tool Technology, CNC Machining, Swiss Machining, or a related field preferred.
Experience setting up and operating CNC Swiss-type machines.
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and inspection methods.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, routings, and CNC programs.
Working knowledge of GD&T.
Strong PC skills and ability to utilize manufacturing ERP and operating systems.
Preferred:
Experience with Swiss-type CNC machines and multi-axis machining.
Ability to perform complete machine setups with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and modify CNC programs.
Strong knowledge of tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds.
Experience machining tight-tolerance precision components.
Proficiency with precision measurement equipment including gages, comparators, CMM, and Trimos.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to consistently meet quality, productivity, and efficiency requirements.
Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
