Job Description

CNC Machinist Sick of making Part #1021 for the 1,000th time? Do you want more than loading the same fixture, pushing cycle start, deburring parts until retirement, and arguing with the guy on second shift about who used the last insert? Good. Neither do we. We're a growing manufacturing and engineering company that actually likes building cool stuff. (ok some parts aren't great or fun) We do: CNC milling and turning Engineering development Product design Prototyping 3D printing Short-run production (25-250) Medium-run production (250-2500) Fixture design Process improvement Custom manufacturing And plenty of projects that make you say, "Well...that's different." If you're curious, mechanically gifted, and enjoy solving problems instead of repeating them forever, keep reading. What You'll Be Doing Set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes (programming if you can, and want to) Work with HAAS and Fanuc control systems Read and interpret prints, CAD models, and engineering drawings Work with GD&T and hold tight tolerances Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections Use calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment Troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes Perform routine machine maintenance and identify mechanical concerns Work directly with engineering on prototypes and production improvements Help make tomorrow's jobs easier than today's (well that's the goal most days) What We're Looking For You don't have to know everything. You do have to enjoy learning.
Ideal candidates have:
2+ years of CNC machining and setup experience Strong blueprint and print-reading skills Experience with CNC programming and CAM software Mechanical aptitude and common sense (yes, it's a qualification) Pride in making quality parts Attention to detail Ability to work independently Strong problem-solving skills Willingness to continuously improve The ability to admit when something doesn't look right before it becomes expensive What You Won't Find Here! 400-page corporate manuals Five managers watching one machinist Endless bureaucracy Meetings that should have been emailed A career consisting entirely of loading the same parts for 10 years What You Will Find A growing small business where your ideas matter Variety in your work Real responsibility New challenges Opportunities to grow your skills A team that works hard but doesn't take itself too seriously If you're the kind of person who sees a problem and immediately starts thinking of three better ways to solve it, you'll probably fit in well here.
