Job Description

  • Must be US Citizen These are the main skills/competencies required:
  • Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Strong competency with mills, lathes, and other machine shop equipment; both manual and CNC
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Experience inspecting machined parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instrumentation to ensure compliance with specifications.
Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency and establish a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations. Requires a high school degree or its equivalent with 4-6 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Manual & CNC Machining Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and related machine shop equipment. Independently set up, program, and run CNC machines, including creating toolpaths, selecting tooling, and validating machining strategies. Create, modify, and maintain fixturing required for machining complex prototype and development components. Programming & Technical Execution Generate CNC programs and machining instructions using CAD/CAM inputs (drawings, sketches, models, or conceptual ideas). Troubleshoot machining operations and adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and workholding as needed for quality, accuracy, and safety. Quality & Documentation Inspect machined parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instrumentation to ensure compliance with specifications. Document work performed, maintain machining notes, and communicate changes or challenges to engineering partners. Follow all shop safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
