Description:

Manual Machinist Pay Rate - $30/hr.+ - 2nd shift Job Description This role focuses on constructing, repairing, maintaining, designing, and fabricating parts for assembly machinery. You will work with a variety of manual and some CNC equipment to ensure production machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Construct, repair, and perform general maintenance on assembly machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Diagnose issues with assembly machinery and repair or replace defective parts in a timely and accurate manner. Install special structural parts and components in assembly machinery according to specifications and blueprints. Set up and operate manual mills, manual lathes, power saws, drill presses, grinders, sanders, welding equipment, and some CNC machines. Use tools such as blasters, hoists, cranes, shears, micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to fabricate and measure parts. Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to design and fabricate parts that meet required tolerances. Follow safety procedures and proper equipment handling practices while working with machinery, tools, and materials. Perform routine checks, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on machines and tools to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience as a manual machinist. Proficiency in operating manual mills and manual lathes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Skilled in using drill presses, saws, grinders, sanders, and welding equipment. Experience with some CNC equipment and basic CNC operation. Ability to operate sand blasters, presses, breaks, hoists, and cranes safely and effectively. Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Ability to use a volt/ohm meter for basic electrical checks related to machinery. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily work activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when fabricating and fitting parts. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively. Solid problem-solving skills to diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repairs. Comfort working with a variety of shop equipment including shears, blasters, and cranes. Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment. Available shifts include 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as a 3rd shift role with Saturday and Sunday off. You will work around active production machinery, using equipment such as manual mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, grinders, sanders, welders, sand blasters, breaks, hoists, cranes, shears, and precision measuring tools. The environment requires adherence to safety procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Work is primarily performed in a shop setting with regular exposure to noise and moving mechanical parts. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Grandview, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
