High School Job Description:

CNC / Manual machinist with experience running 5-axis CNC mills and Y-axis CNC Mill-turn manual lathes and mills. Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

Mill-turn with live tooling Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates Coordinate with CNC programmer during first article fabrication to ensure specification compliance for resulting parts Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process Familiarity with Mastercam and Solidworks toolchain Ability to coordinate use of materials and tooling as required by project. Pay depends on experience.
