Specialty Machine Works, Inc. We are a growing ASME code fabrication and machining shop supporting refineries and chemical plants along the Gulf Coast. We are looking for an experienced Machinist who can run both CNC and conventional/manual machines with confidence and precision. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes) Program CNC equipment (G-code, conversational, or CAM preferred) Operate manual machines (engine lathe, vertical/horizontal mill, drill press) Machine parts to tight tolerances from drawings and prints Read and interpret blueprints, weldments, and mechanical drawings Perform inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges Work with a variety of materials (carbon steel, stainless, alloys, etc.) Assist with repair work, one-off jobs, and custom fabrication components Maintain equipment and keep a clean, safe work area Qualifications 3+ years machining experience (CNC and/or manual) Strong understanding of machining fundamentals and tooling Ability to read blueprints and hold tolerances Experience with job shop or custom fabrication work preferred Welding/fabrication knowledge is a plus (not required) Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision What We Offer Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Overtime opportunities Steady work (not just production runs—variety of jobs) Small shop environment where your work matters Opportunity to grow with a solid Gulf Coast company Full benefits package (Medical, 401K, 6 paid holidays, vacation) Bonus Points (Not Required) Experience machining pressure vessel or heat exchanger components Familiarity with ASME code work CNC programming experience (Mastercam, etc.) "We're not a production factory—you'll work on real-world industrial jobs for refineries and chemical plants."
