Job Description

Position Summary Conveniently located in Matthews, NC, just outside Charlotte, Northeast Tool & Manufacturing is seeking CNC Machinists to support our growing aerospace manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment to machine precision aerospace components while maintaining strict quality and dimensional requirements. Ideal candidates will have experience interpreting blueprints, performing inspections, working with tight tolerances, and supporting continuous process improvement. Opportunities are available across all shifts, including a $1/hour premium for 2nd shift and a $2/hour premium for 3rd shift positions. What You'll Do Operate CNC equipment, including 5-axis mills, mills, multi-axis mill-turns, lathes, and Wire EDM machines to produce precision metal components. Follow blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to manufacture parts within required dimensions and tolerances. Set up and maintain tooling, including tool changes, offsets, recalibration, and monitoring tool wear. Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments and digital measurement tools to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy. Monitor machine performance, identify machining issues or out-of-tolerance conditions, and make adjustments or escalate concerns as needed. Perform secondary operations such as deburring, cleaning, tapping, and countersinking. Load and unload materials and completed parts from machining centers. Complete required production documentation and maintain a clean, organized work area through 5S and preventive maintenance practices. What We Are Looking For High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a metal-cutting manufacturing environment. Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining equipment, including tooling selection, offsets, and first-piece inspections. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T while working to tight tolerances in a precision manufacturing environment. Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment, with the ability to obtain consistent, accurate, and repeatable measurements. Experience machining complex, close-tolerance components in a precision manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, safety, continuous improvement, and established manufacturing procedures. Even Better Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Experience working in an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with multi-axis, including simultaneous 5-axis, CNC machining; experience with DMG Mori, Haas, Heller, and/or Okuma equipment preferred. Experience holding tight tolerances of
