Job Description
Machine Process Technician - Central Machining As a 100% Associate-owned, global leader in providing advanced industrial cutting solutions, Hypertherm offers a collaborative work environment while promoting empowerment and a positive work-life balance. We are looking to add a Machine Process Technician to our technical staff at 100 Etna Road in Lebanon, NH. As a Machine Process Technician, you'll work under the direction of engineers or other senior personnel, performing tasks which require technical knowledge to support our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the area's Manufacturing Process Engineer(s) in support of the design of tooling, fixtures, and workstations essential for new product introduction Support technology development, sustaining engineering, and cost savings initiatives Utilize prior experience to support product and technology development and sustaining engineering initiatives through team efforts Set up test equipment and data acquisition equipment Assist in the writing of tests, as well as conducting tests. Collect and document data and test results in computerized records, preferably using Excel or Minitab Assist the area MPE(s) to ensure that production area processes operate within quality metric targets. Monitor trends in quality performance and aid in the execution of root cause analysis and corrective action plans Participate in the investigation and purchase of new equipment and tooling. Provide input into the equipment/process technology road map Demonstrate and maintain a safe troubleshooting practice when working with low and high-power devices, machines, or systems Provide process and equipment programming and support for automation Assembly, packaging, smart press, machine tenders, robotics, friction welding, laser, wash Trouble shoots and corrects fault signals, positioning errors, vision systems, parts handling issues Provide training for line changeovers and tool/fixture adjustments and replacements Responsible for the creation, management and production release of set-up, Quality Data Collection, and machine utilization documentation and software Ability to read and interpret system and circuit schematics. Understanding of Microcontroller based products CNC, PLC, CPLD, General test script programming Required knowledge, skills, education, and experience: High school diploma or GED 18 years or older 5 - 8 years of machining and/or machine programming experience Strong communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills Possess machine process diagnosis skills Strong knowledge of and ability to use both mechanical and electronic measuring equipment Can apply knowledge of cutting tools including geometries, grades, and coatings Advanced GD&T reading skills Ability to program manually using G Codes Working knowledge of Microsoft product use (e.g., Word, Excel, and MiniTab) Demonstrate Ambition, Aptitude, and capacity to Acclimate Preferred Experience that differentiates you: Exposure to advanced machining, process improvement, and tool selection with a variety of machine types Ability to operate manual and CNC machine tools Working knowledge of Computer Aided Machining (CAM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (SolidWorks), Esprit Programming Experience with Lean manufacturing toolsLocation:
