- Operate and set up various machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and NC machines, to produce precision parts
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining processes and tolerances while learning GD&T symbols
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling systems to produce components based on technical drawings and job requirements
- Inspect parts for tolerance and quality requirements
- Help troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines, tooling, or parts
- Program, set up, and operate NC machines
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Additional Information
Help for Additional Information. Qualifications of the Machinist II - High school diploma required, associate degree in management and/or technical certificate with 1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred
- Familiar with manufacturing processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to multitask, remain organized, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to interpret specifications, schematics, job orders, and employee policies
- Ability to inspect materials, products, and/or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, high gauges, gage pins, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time management, and documentation skills
