Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Set-up Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC machining, machine setup, and precision measurement, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technical blueprints. As a CNC Set-up Machinist, you will be responsible for preparing and programming CNC machines, ensuring optimal operation, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the production of complex metal and plastic components with precision and consistency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and set-up machines within the department. Inspect parts and document results of inspections on in process inspection plans. Continuously monitor equipment and tooling. In the event of a breakdown or other event that would disrupt the process, notify department manager to resolve the problem. Follow the instructions on the setup sheet, drawings and/or programs. Assist with training of new team members and operators. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Adhere to company safety requirements. Assure that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Seabrook Quality System procedures. Experience Proven experience as a CNC Set-up Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls preferred. Extensive knowledge of CNC machining processes such as milling, turning on CNC lathes, grinding, and manual machining techniques. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks and CAD for designing or interpreting technical drawings. Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications. Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fixtures, measurement instruments (micrometers, bore gauges), and machine setup procedures. Basic math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and feed rates essential for precision manufacturing.
