CNC Machinist Shift:
1st
Shift:
7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Potential OT)
Salary:
$25.00 - $33.00 per hour Who we are A well-established specialty component manufacturing facility located in Newark, NJ, serving critical defense and heavy industry partners. The organization is dedicated to high-quality production, workplace safety, and continuous improvement across all operations. CNC Machinist Role The CNC Machinist sets up, operates, and monitors vertical milling machinery to manufacture high-precision components to exact customer specifications. CNC Machinist Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision components Perform equipment pre-operation checks to ensure proper setup, startup, and continuous running Monitor multi-equipment operations during production runs to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards Select appropriate speeds, feeds, and tooling based on material and part specifications Inspect finished parts using precision tools to ensure exact alignment with blueprint specifications Perform basic troubleshooting and adjust machine parameters as needed during operation Maintain clear communication with team members and support teams to maximize production efficiency Rotate across different departmental work centers as required CNC Machinist Reporting Relationships Reports directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor with no direct reports About You Possess at least five years of manufacturing or precision machining experience Demonstrate proficiency setting up and operating CNC vertical mills Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Program and edit machine functions using G&M code Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and gauges Operate material handling equipment safely within a production facility Demonstrate English communication skills to read, write, and count inventory accurately Lift up to 40 lbs and work effectively in an active shop environment Next Steps If detail-oriented and quality-focused describes you, we would like to hear from you.
