Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming raw metal materials into precise components and assemblies using a variety of fabrication techniques and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of technical drawings, measurement standards, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality production. The Metal Fabricator will work closely with engineering and production teams to meet project specifications and deadlines, contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine fabrication requirements. Operate a wide range of fabrication equipment including CNC laser cutting machines, plasma cutters, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines. Set up and calibrate machining tools and fabrication equipment for precise operations. Perform welding using various techniques to assemble metal components according to specifications. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement tools for quality inspection and measurement verification. Conduct CNC programming tasks for laser cutting, milling, or turning operations to ensure accurate production runs. Maintain safety standards by adhering to safety protocols during machine operation and fabrication processes. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise to minimize downtime. Assist in the setup of tooling and fixtures for efficient production workflows. Ensure all fabricated parts meet quality standards. Skills Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Experience operating CNC machinery such as laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, and stamping presses. Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, or stick welding. Mechanical knowledge related to machine operation, setup, and maintenance. Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators for quality control. Familiarity with shop math and basic math skills necessary for accurate fabrication measurements. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and strict adherence to safety protocols. Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes including forming, cutting, and assembly. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for precise fabrication work. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently.
