$40-$45/hour Job Summary We're seeking an experienced and dependable Class A Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Los Alamos, NM . The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on machining and setup experience, advanced knowledge of machining practices, and the ability to independently take a job from setup through machining and inspection while working from complex engineering drawings and specifications. This position is suited for an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision parts and can troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment to manufacture precision components. Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, tolerances, and work instructions . Perform complete machine setups, including selection and installation of appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding. Verify programs, tooling, offsets, and setup requirements prior to machining. Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet drawing and customer requirements. Use precision measuring equipment , including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection tools. Maintain close tolerances and consistently produce parts that meet quality requirements. Identify machining, tooling, setup, and quality issues and communicate concerns to supervision and Quality Assurance. Accurately complete job travelers, inspection documentation, and other required production records. Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Follow company quality procedures, safety requirements, and applicable customer requirements. Assist and provide guidance to less-experienced machinists when needed. Qualifications Previous experience as a Class A, Senior, or highly experienced Machinist in a precision manufacturing environment. Strong CNC machining and machine setup experience. Ability to independently set up and operate machining equipment. Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and tooling selection . Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and specifications. Working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances . Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment. Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues . Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Preferred Experience Experience with CNC lathes and CNC mills Multi-axis machining CNC programming CAD/CAM software Precision machining of complex components Experience working within a controlled Quality Management System Experience manufacturing parts to stringent customer, nuclear, government, or other highly regulated requirements What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced machinist who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of producing parts correctly the first time. You should be capable of taking a job from setup through machining and inspection with minimal supervision , while maintaining required tolerances and quality standards. Experience mentoring or assisting less-experienced machinists is also valuable in this role. Compensation $40-$45 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site manufacturing position in Los Alamos, New Mexico , requiring hands-on machining, precision measurement, quality inspection, and adherence to established safety and manufacturing procedures.Benefits
