vertical mill Load and properly secure raw materials and workpieces Select, install, and change tooling as required Set work offsets, tool offsets, and machine zero as needed Load and run established CNC programs Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, work instructions, and production specifications Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and overall quality Use calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment Verify finished parts meet specified dimensions and tolerances Identify tooling, machining, material, or program-related issues Perform basic troubleshooting when machining problems occur Create, edit, or modify CNC programs as needed Use Autodesk Fusion (formerly Fusion 360) to review, create, or modify CAD/CAM files and machining programs Create or make adjustments to toolpaths, machining operations, feeds, speeds, and program settings as needed Operate a lathe when needed and within the candidate's experience level Perform routine machine cleaning, tool changes, and basic preventative maintenance Maintain a clean and organized work area Help reduce material waste and identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency Track completed production and communicate tooling, material, quality, or equipment issues Follow established safety and quality procedures Assist with other machining and production tasks as needed Qualifications Previous machining or CNC machine experience Experience operating CNC mills or similar machining equipment Experience using Autodesk Fusion (formerly Fusion 360) Ability to create, edit, or modify CNC programs and CAD/CAM files Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and part specifications Understanding of CNC tooling, work offsets, tool offsets, feeds, speeds, and machine setup Understanding of machining tolerances and dimensional requirements Ability to accurately inspect completed parts Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools Basic machining math skills, including decimals, fractions, measurements, and tolerances Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Strong attention to detail Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and as part of a production team Ability to safely lift and handle materials used during production Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening Preferred Experience Haas VF-2 or other Haas CNC machining centers Haas CNC controls CNC milling Lathe operation Manual or CNC lathe experience CAD/CAM programming Creating or modifying machining toolpaths G-code and M-code Tool selection and setup Setting work and tool offsets CNC troubleshooting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Production machining or manufacturing experience What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing accurate, consistent work and understands the importance of quality in a machining environment. The right candidate should be comfortable setting up and operating CNC equipment, reading drawings and tolerances, inspecting their own work, recognizing when something is not machining correctly, and making appropriate adjustments before additional parts are produced. The candidate should also be comfortable using Autodesk Fusion to create or modify CAD/CAM files, toolpaths, and CNC programs as part of the machining process. The ability to operate a lathe would also be a valuable additional skill.
