Job Title:
CNC Machinist Job Description:
The CNC machinist produces precision machined parts by setting up tooling, maintaining G-code programs, loading materials, and fully operating CNC horizontal mills, lathes, and vertical milling centers. The machinist is responsible for achieving quality and safety standards, adhering to production schedules, and performing basic machine maintenance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates and/or sets up CNC shop equipment with minimal assistance including: Load materials using proper fixtures. Sets up tooling and programs by: Setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches Calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry and trigonometry Verifies settings by measuring first-run parts and performing periodic part inspections.
Maintains specifications by:
Observing milling, turning, boring, drilling, and threading operations Detecting faults and troubleshooting processes Adjusting and reprogramming controls Sharpening and replacing worn tools Adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Maintains continuity among work shifts and machinists by documenting and communicating status, irregularities, and current needs Documents daily production and quality records Accomplishes organization's goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Capable of demonstrating a high level of accuracy, quality, efficiency, and attention to detail. Must be proficient in G-code Ability to handle varying daily priorities and meet deadlines consistently Ability to read drawings, calculate figures and amounts Ability to read and edit G-code programs a major plus Basic computer and keyboard skills
Job Type:
Full-time First & Second shift (Monday-Friday) - flex hours/schedules available Overtime available Pay range $22-$35/hour based on capability
Education/Experience:
Must have a high school diploma or GED Trade School or a minimum of 2 years of experience Benefits offered: 15 days Paid Time Off (PTO) 401K with employer match Health insurance Dental/Optical insurance
Quarterly Bonus Language Skills:
Ability to speak and understand written and spoken
