Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machine Shop Apprentice and kickstart your career in precision machining and fabrication! This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience working alongside skilled machinists and engineers. You will learn to operate, set up, and maintain a variety of machine tools, including CNC machines, lathes, mills, and press brakes. With a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, this role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop technical skills in a fast-paced environment. No prior experience is required—just a passion for manufacturing and a desire to learn! Duties Assist in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other machining equipment Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise fabrication Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions Support fabrication processes including welding (MIG welding), assembly, and tooling preparation Learn to program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and basic CNC programming techniques Operate forklifts safely within warehouse environments to move raw materials and finished products Participate in quality control inspections to ensure parts meet specifications using precision measuring instruments Follow safety protocols related to machining operations, welding procedures, and equipment handling Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and maintaining organized workspaces Skills Basic understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T principles for accurate manufacturing Familiarity with CNC programming concepts and CAM software tools Hands-on experience with welding techniques such as MIG welding preferred but not required Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes and equipment maintenance Ability to use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement devices confidently Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and quality control procedures Strong math skills for measurements, calculations, and machine setup adjustments Experience with warehouse operations or forklift certification is a plus Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), press brake machines, SolidWorks CAD software, CNC lathe/milling machines is advantageous but not mandatory Commitment to learning new skills in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail Embark on your journey in manufacturing with us!
