Non-Union Pay Range:
$40.00 - $55.00 / hour (commensurate with experience) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Machinist to produce precision parts, tools, and custom fixtures for high-reliability military and aerospace applications. In this hands-on role, you will set up and operate both manual and CNC machinery (specifically Haas equipment), utilize MasterCam or Fusion 360 for CAM programming, and hold extremely tight tolerances using advanced precision metrology.
Key Responsibilities Precision Machining:
Set up and operate manual and CNC machinery—including Haas CNC mills/lathes, drill presses, and grinders—to manufacture parts from complex engineering drawings, sketches, and process sheets.
CAM Programming & Setup:
Utilize MasterCam or Fusion 360 to program and optimize machining strategies, select cutting tools, and fabricate custom work-holding/fixturing.
Blueprint Reading & Metrology:
Interpret complex blueprints applying GD&T and shop mathematics. Verify critical dimensions using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and specialized inspection tools.
Quality & Tolerances:
Consistently meet and maintain military/space-grade dimensional tolerances across various metals and plastics. Shop Operations & 5
S:
Maintain high standards for shop organization, tool sharpening/maintenance, and 5S/LEAN methodologies. Proactively recommend process improvements and tooling/equipment upgrades.
Qualifications Experience & Education:
High School Diploma with 8+ years of relevant machine shop experience, OR an Associate Degree with 6+ years of experience.
CNC & CAM
Expertise:
5+ years of hands-on experience with Haas CNC equipment and proficiency in MasterCam or Fusion 360 . (Experience with Autodesk Inventor is a plus).
Technical Skills:
Deep knowledge of machining practices, tool geometry, feeds/speeds, material characteristics, and GD&T.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, solid work ethic, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $40.00 - $55.00
