We are seeking a CNC or Manual Machinist (First or Second Shift - 3 years experience) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate and set up various machining equipment including lathes and Mills, ID and OD CNC grinders, CNC gear cutting (hobbers) and CNC shaper cutting machines, to produce precision gears and associated components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment, including CNC lathes and mills, ID/OD grinders as well as manual machining equipment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about precision manufacturing, possess strong mechanical knowledge, and thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on quality and efficiency. Duties Set up and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, grinders or manual machining equipment to produce precision gears and components Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate production Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software; utilize Mazatrol controls when applicable Perform machine setup, calibration, and tooling adjustments to optimize machining processes Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control Inspect machined parts for accuracy and adherence to specifications; perform CNC quality inspections Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; troubleshoot machine issues promptly Skills and qualifications : Minimum of three years of experience in CNC or manual machining within a manufacturing environment Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CNC G-code programming is preferred Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar tools for interpreting mechanical blueprints is a plus Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret complex blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately Knowledge of measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement devices Ability to read blueprints thoroughly and understand GD&T specifications for precise manufacturing Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements Experience with lean manufacturing principles is a plus but not required Mechanical aptitude combined with attention to detail and problem-solving skills Join us in producing top-tier gears by leveraging your machining expertise!
