Job Description

Job Overview Seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is primarily responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision components. Experience with CNC lathes is helpful but not required—we are willing to train the right individual. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of machining fundamentals, G & M code programming, tooling selection, and blueprint interpretation. Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus but is not required. CNC Machine Setup & Operation
  • Perform complete machine setups on CNC milling machines.
  • Operate CNC mills to produce precision parts that meet quality and production requirements.
  • Assist with CNC lathe setups and operation as needed (training provided if necessary).
  • Verify first-piece inspections and make necessary program or tooling adjustments.
  • Monitor machine performance and make offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy. Programming & Technical Knowledge
  • Read, understand, and edit G & M code programs.
  • Understand machining processes including feeds, speeds, tool paths, and work offsets.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software is beneficial but not required - willing to train the right individual. Tooling & Quality
  • Select appropriate tooling for various machining operations.
  • Install, preset, and maintain cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment including:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Bore gauges
  • Height gauges
  • Indicators
  • Maintain tolerances and ensure parts meet quality specifications. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency and reduce setup times.
  • Assist Engineering with tooling improvements and process development.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S principles. Qualifications Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience (or equivalent demonstrated ability).
  • Proven experience performing complete CNC mill setups.
  • Strong knowledge of G & M codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and work holding.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Preferred
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, Gibbs CAM, or similar).
  • Experience with CNC equipment - Haas, Mori Seki, DMG, etc. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
