This position requires a highly skilled machinist capable of independently setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes while producing precision-machined components to blueprint specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Mazak and Ganesh CNC lathes, be proficient in both conversational and G/M-code programming, and possess the ability to select tooling and develop machining processes from engineering drawings with minimal supervision. Essential Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision-machined parts. Program Mazak equipment using Mazatrol conversational programming. Program Ganesh CNC lathes using G-code and M-code programming. Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and customer specifications. Select appropriate tooling, inserts, workholding, and cutting parameters based on part requirements. Perform machine setup including tooling installation, offsets, and first-piece verification. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues to maintain productivity and quality. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications. Optimize cycle times, tool life, and machining processes for efficiency. Maintain accurate production and quality documentation. Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards. Support overtime requirements as needed to meet production demands. QualificationsRequired 3+ years of CNC lathe machining experience. Experience setting up and programming CNC lathes from scratch. Proficiency with Mazatrol conversational programming. Experience programming with G-Code and M-Code. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T. Ability to independently determine tooling and machining strategies from print specifications. Experience using precision measurement equipment such as: Micrometers Calipers Bore Gauges Indicators Height Gauges Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred Experience with Mazak CNC lathes. Experience with Ganesh CNC lathes. Knowledge of multi-axis machining operations. Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume or precision manufacturing environment. Compensation & Benefits $22-28 per hour based on experience, setup ability, and programming expertise.
