In this role, you will operate and maintain press brake machines to accurately bend and shape sheet metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and fabrication will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, proficiency in blueprint reading, and experience with various machining and fabrication tools. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor CNC-controlled press brake machines to produce precise bends on sheet metal components. Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication. Program CNC press brakes using CAD/CAM software to optimize bending sequences and tooling configurations. Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including tooling changes, calibration, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools for assembly, adjustments, or repairs as needed. Operate forklifts and cranes safely for material handling and loading/unloading raw materials or finished parts. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other equipment. Collaborate with team members in manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, plasma cutting, stamping, or welding to meet production deadlines. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for efficiency and quality. Experience Proven experience operating CNC press brake machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of CNC programming principles and the ability to modify programs as needed. Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, plasma cutting, stamping presses, and welding. Knowledge of mechanical systems related to machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Ability to read complex blueprints with GD&T annotations accurately. Experience with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills in tooling setup, fabrication techniques, and assembly processes. Prior experience operating forklifts and cranes safely within a manufacturing setting is preferred. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills aimed at maintaining high standards of quality.
