Heavy Equipment Structural Welder-Fitter Barbco Machine Manufacturing East Canton, OH Job Details Full-time $23 - $27 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Measuring tapes Inspection tools Full Job Description Build machines that move the world Join a heavy equipment manufacturer in East Canton, Ohio, where precision fitting and high‑integrity welds turn raw steel into hard‑working machinery. You don't need a certification—your craft, accuracy, and efficiency are what count. A day in the life On day shift (Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm), you'll review blueprints with weld symbols at your bench, lay out material with a straightedge, combination square, and ruler, and tack everything into place. On second shift (Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm-1:00am, Fridays as needed), you'll pick up complex assemblies, manage heat input to control distortion, and run MIG and flux‑cored passes in all positions—then clean, grind, and prep for paint so every weld not only holds but looks great. What you'll handle Fit and weld structural steel components for heavy equipment Interpret fabrication blueprints and weld symbols Lay out, position, and secure parts using a straightedge, combination square, and ruler Weld in all positions with strong, reliable, and visually clean beads Control heat and distortion; select techniques to counter weld-induced movement Cut and trim using oxy‑acetylene torch or plasma cutter Hand grind, scrape, and polish surfaces for paint preparation What you bring At least 2 years of welding/fabrication experience Ability to read and write Proficiency with a tape measure, square, and other measuring tools Reliable transportation Willingness to work 40-50 hours per week Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Personal tools and welding helmet Shifts & schedule
