Job Description
- Job Title: CNC Machinist
- Job Description
- This role focuses on setting up, adjusting, and operating CNC machine tools to produce precision components with exact tolerances and complex geometries. You will interpret blueprints, program CNC equipment, and ensure all parts meet quality and specification standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Responsibilities
- + Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machine tools to achieve exact tolerances on products with various dimensions and unusual contours.
+ Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
+ Select, align, and securely install holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into CNC machines.
+ Inspect cutting tools for sharpness, wear, and overall usability, and replace or adjust as needed to maintain quality.
+ Calculate and set machine controls and programming parameters to regulate machining operations.
+ Program CNC machines to specific speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut to meet production and quality standards.
+ Operate CNC lathes and mills to produce parts according to engineering specifications and work orders.
+ Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to programs, tooling, or machine settings to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
+ Perform basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment and report issues that require further maintenance.
+ Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area in a manufacturing environment.
- Essential Skills
- + Hands-on CNC machining experience with lathe or mill equipment.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
+ Experience working with G-code and M-code for CNC programming and operation.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles.
+ Proficiency in setting up CNC machines, including tooling, fixturing, and workholding.
+ Ability to calculate and input machine controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting parameters.
+ Experience operating CNC lathes and mills in a production or manufacturing setting.
+ Attention to detail and ability to hold tight tolerances on complex parts.
+ Basic machine operating skills and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Welding experience is a plus and beneficial for supporting broader manufacturing tasks.
+ Ability to work from technical drawings and engineering documentation.
+ Comfort working with various CNC equipment, including vertical and horizontal machines.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust machining processes when needed.
+ Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and quality standards.

- Work Environment
- This position is based in a manufacturing environment that utilizes advanced CNC equipment, including CNC vertical turning lathes (VTL), CNC horizontal mills, CNC vertical mills, and CNC horizontal lathes.
Work is performed on 1st shift, typically from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. The setting is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and efficiency around heavy machinery and metalworking operations. Standard manufacturing attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety while working with CNC machines and related tools.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $18.
00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
