Job Description
Join our team at Michael Byrne Mfg., a thriving small manufacturing company specializing in custom construction equipment and industrial gear boxes. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented machinist to operate a variety of gear cutting machines. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual gear cutting machines such as shapers and hobs Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations. Monitor machine operations to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards. Adjust machine controls and offsets as needed to ensure proper machining of parts. Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment. Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality before releasing them for further processing or shipment. Skills Experience operating manual machining centers or industrial equipment Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Strong math and analytical skills Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
