The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles and, blueprint reading, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. The Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring our manufacturing processes meet high standards of accuracy and safety. Responsibilities Knowledge of CNC a plus but not required Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, to produce precise components. Set up machines with appropriate tooling, fixtures, and calibration using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Perform basic maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues related to machining processes. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to assist in assembly or fabrication tasks as needed. Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety protocols. Assist in training new team members or interns as required. Skills Minimum of 3 - 5 years of prior experience preferred but not necessary Strong knowledge of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings. Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and welding is a plus but not required. Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes including machining techniques. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for precision manufacturing. Experience with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, tooling setup, and assembly techniques. Ability to operate forklifts is a plus but not required. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency.
