Job Description

As a CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist, you will oversee the configuration, operation, and upkeep of Swiss-style CNC equipment to manufacture medical implants and instruments. Your daily contributions will involve fabricating parts, performing inspections, deburring, and resolving technical issues, while also assisting with new product introductions by refining setups and debugging programs. We look for individuals who can take initiative to solve production challenges, maintain high quality, and guarantee that our delivery schedules are met. Core Responsibilities Execute machine changeovers and setups while debugging CNC programs through precise tool adjustments. Operate and care for Swiss-style CNC units, hand tools, and fixtures to help maintain a high-functioning production environment. Analyze technical blueprints, work instructions, and inspection sheets to ensure accuracy. Utilize precision measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, comparators, and height stands. Manage production documentation and work orders through ERP and electronic monitoring systems. Collaborate with programmers by providing technical feedback and maintaining updated setup documentation. Mentor team members to help maximize equipment utilization and reach production goals. Facilitate training for colleagues to improve overall team proficiency. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality and delivery outcomes. Manage the production schedule to ensure all customer orders are delivered on time. Required Qualifications A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with preference for additional technical education. At least 5 years of professional experience running Swiss-style lathes within a manufacturing setting. Prior experience working with Tsugami, Citizen, or comparable Swiss-style machinery is preferred. Possess a deep understanding of production workflows and the associated tooling, gauging, and measurement equipment. Demonstrate technical expertise in reading blueprints, managing setup files, and performing machine setups. Ensure that all parts meet functional and cosmetic standards to guarantee high-quality assembly. Maintain a foundational understanding of CNC programming logic. Communicate clearly with technical staff, management, and production teams across the organization. Apply lean manufacturing principles to support operational objectives. Follow supervisory directives to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. Demonstrate a consistent commitment to professional conduct and our organizational values. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Quality System, including compliance policies and the application of Measurement Instruction Sheets.
