Job Description
Steelcrest Precision (formally Wauseon Machine) is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our aerospace and defense manufacturing team. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines using existing CNC programs to produce precision-machined components that meet customer and quality requirements. CNC programming is not required for this position. Essential Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines using existing CNC programs. Perform machine changeovers, tooling installation, and fixture setup. Load, verify, and execute approved CNC programs. Adjust tool offsets and machine parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Apply GD&T requirements during machining and inspection. Replace cutting tools and monitor tool wear. Troubleshoot machining issues with Engineering and Quality. Complete production and inspection documentation. Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean work area. Follow all safety, AS9100, and quality procedures. Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of CNC machining experience operating and setting up CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines. Experience performing machine setups using existing CNC programs. Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings. Proficient with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and thread gauges. Strong math skills including decimals and fractions. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience. Experience in an AS9100 and/or
