Westlake, OH Full Time Mid Level Lapper Machinist I Overview The Lapper Machinist I is an introductory role focused on learning the fundamentals of lapping, polishing, and finishing operations. Employees in this level work under close supervision and follow established procedures to support production needs. Key Responsibilities Perform basic lapping and polishing tasks under direct supervision. Follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures. Assist with setup and preparation of lapping equipment. Operate and tend lapping, and related machines to meet dimensional and surface‑finish requirements. Must be at a consistent ± 40 Use precision measuring tools to verify part conformance. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, measurements, and inspection results. Report defects or irregularities to senior machinists or supervisors. Perform routine maintenance on lapping equipment; report issues requiring engineering or maintenance support. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and maintain attention to detail. Basic understanding of shop safety practices. Good manual dexterity and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
