Full-Time Horizontal Mill Machinist - Must-Have Requirements3-5+ years of CNC horizontal milling experience in a precision machine shopStrong understanding of CNC horizontal mill setup and operationAbility to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&TExperience machining tight-tolerance, precision componentsAbility to use micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipmentStrong knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, speeds, feeds, and offsetsAbility to make machine offsets and adjustments to maintain part qualityStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsReliable attendance and ability to work independentlyHorizontal Mill Machinist - Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Horizontal Mill Machinist to join a precision manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC horizontal mills to produce complex, close-tolerance components. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of hands-on machining experience in a precision machine shop and be comfortable working with detailed blueprints, tight tolerances, multiple setups, and precision inspection equipment. Horizontal Mill Machinist - Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC horizontal mills to produce precision-machined componentsSelect and install appropriate cutting tools, holders, inserts, fixtures, and workholdingLoad programs and make necessary tool offsets and machine adjustmentsRead and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, work instructions, and GD&TPerform multiple-axis and multi-operation machining as requiredInspect parts during and after machining using precision measuring equipmentMonitor tooling and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finishIdentify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issuesPerform first-piece and in-process inspectionsMaintain accurate production and inspection documentationFollow established quality and safety proceduresMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaWork closely with quality and production personnel to meet production requirementsHorizontal Mill Machinist - Additional QualificationsExperience machining complex or close-tolerance components preferredExperience with multiple CNC controls is a plusStrong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and workholdingExperience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or other industrial materialsStrong understanding of shop math and precision measurementAbility to troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate adjustmentsExperience in a job shop or low-volume, high-mix precision manufacturing environment is highly preferred
