Job Title:
CNC Machinist Job Description This role involves setting up and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components for oil and gas, aerospace, and general industrial applications. You will work with CNC lathes and mills to produce high-quality parts, interpret blueprints, and use precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy and consistency in all machined products. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce precision components. Manufacture products used in oil and gas, aerospace, and general industrial manufacturing, including components used to perforate oil and gas wells in preparation for production. Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances. Perform machine setup activities, including installing tooling, workholding, and fixtures, and verifying correct machine offsets. Use CNC programming, including G-code, to create, edit, or adjust programs for efficient and accurate machining. Operate machines equipped with Fanuc and Haas controls and ensure proper use of control features and functions. Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and quality. Monitor machining operations, make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling, and troubleshoot issues to maintain part quality and productivity. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established safety procedures and shop practices. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement in machining processes. Essential Skills 1-2 years of CNC machinist experience, completion of CNC education or training, or equivalent CNC schooling. Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency with CNC programming, including G-code, for machining operations. Experience working with Fanuc and Haas CNC controls. Skill in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Demonstrated ability to perform machine setup for CNC equipment. Solid understanding of machining principles for lathes and mills. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3-5 years of CNC machining experience is beneficial and may align with more advanced responsibilities. 5+ years of CNC machining experience with strong programming skills is highly desirable. Experience machining components for oil and gas, aerospace, or general industrial manufacturing environments. Familiarity with G-code optimization and program troubleshooting. Comfort working with multiple machine types, including CNC mills and CNC lathes, in a production environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position follows Monday-Friday shifts with a second shift schedule of approximately 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM. Overtime is available by coming in early, staying late, and working on Saturdays, with current workloads averaging around 55 hours per week. The facility is fully climate controlled, providing a comfortable and stable working environment around CNC mills and lathes equipped with Fanuc and Haas controls, as well as standard precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
