Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Manual Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking operations. In this role, you will operate manual machining tools and equipment to produce high-quality components according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise in mechanical blueprint interpretation, measurement, and machining techniques will ensure the delivery of precise parts that meet stringent quality standards. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce metal parts with precision. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately to determine machining requirements. Use measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality control and measurement verification. Perform machine setup, calibration, and tooling adjustments to ensure optimal operation and accuracy. Execute manual machining tasks involving cutting, shaping, drilling, boring, grinding, and finishing metal components. Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) symbols to maintain tight tolerances during manufacturing processes. Maintain a clean, safe workspace by adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, welding, welding safety, forklift operation, and use of power tools. Assist with machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production flow. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes when required and support lean manufacturing initiatives for process improvement. Experience Proven experience operating manual machining tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and bore gauges in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint reading and interpretation of technical drawings. Familiarity Manual Machining. experience with Lagune Mills, Manual Lathes, Key Seater, Grinders and Radial Drill Press.. Knowledge of measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters. Experience in metal machining processes including turning, milling, grinding, drilling, welding support activities, and tool setup. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately for manufacturing purposes.
