Karman Space & Defense is a leader in the rapid design, development, and production of critical, next-generation system solutions that align with the U.S. Department of Wars core mission priorities and meet our nations accelerating demand for access to space. Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs.

This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nations space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. We enable successful space operations with mission critical technology supporting every step from first launch to final landing, including launch vehicle subsystems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic and interstage systems, and payload protection and deployment. Our high-performance solutions are engineered to operate in the most extreme environments and meet precise mission requirements. As a CNC Machinist, you support production operations by running three, four, and five axis computer numerical control (CNC) machines to manufacture precision aerospace components. You load parts, monitor tools and machine performance, complete required documentation, and ensure every part meets specification. Your work contributes directly to hardware readiness and efficient throughput on the manufacturing floor.

This position requires U.S. person status under U.S. export control laws, including U.S. citizens and nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.

ScheduleFirst shift.

ResponsibilitiesLoads parts and sets up three, four, and five axis CNC machines. Operates multiple CNC machines simultaneously to support production flow. Monitors machines and tooling to verify proper operation and consistent part quality. Completes work orders, inspection documentation, and daily preventative maintenance records. Makes basic tool adjustments under moderate supervision. Promotes health and safety practices for self and teammates. Supports quality and compliance by following all procedures, work instructions, and forms aligned with the Quality Management System (QMS). Complete all the training required. Required QualificationsExperience in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not required). Being familiar with CNC tooling as a machinist 1.Strong work ethic. Attention to detail. Ability to read blueprints. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Mathematical ability. Problem solving skills. Mechanical aptitude. Physical RequirementsOperates machinery from a standing position. Frequently positions self to operate machinery in various configurations. Constantly performs visual inspection of parts. Occasionally lifts or moves up to 30 pounds. The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
