We are seeking a f/t Machinist I for our Hermitage, PA location. This non-exempt position could require OT, weekends and rotating shifts as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED Valid Driver's License Three or more years machining experience preferred but not required Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities Familiar with general computer applications Excellent organizational skills Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed Solid verbal and written communication skills Proficient at operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment Ability to work a variety of work schedules and overtime as neededRESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Prior machining ability Mechanical ability Previous manual grinding experience or equivalent education Experience with micrometers, calipers and/or other precision measurement toolsRESPONSIBLITIES WILL INCLUDE
Perform all work in line with safety rules Set-up and operate one or more grinding machines on a production basis for the purpose of grinding the surface of manufacturing parts to specification Set-up equipment according to specifications on product blueprint, with little or no supervision Start and stop machinery Verify conformance of work to specification using preset gauges and micrometers Replace and dress with grinding wheels Adjust controls in order to vary the dept. of cut, grinding speed and rate of feed Accurate and timely reporting of all production and quality related data and records Maintain the cleanliness and housekeeping responsibilities for the equipment and work area Maintain an accurate count of production pieces Support all productivity and process related goals Perform other duties as assigned Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
