Job Description

The position is responsible for fabricating individual parts and assemblies from simple to complex in a prototype environment. The candidate will have to interact with designers and assembly technicians. Job Responsibilities  Fabricate parts to exact dimensional and angular print tolerances  Occasionally assemble/disassemble simple fixtures and tooling.  Stay abreast of automation industry trends relative to modern machining techniques, tooling and new hardware/software. Direction Received  This position will receive direction from the Fabrication Department Manager. Supervision of Others  This position does not have any direct reports. Knowledge/Experience Requirements  Experience using milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment (manual and CNC- controlled).  Experience choosing proper tooling and setting feeds and speeds.  Ability to interpret printed part drawings and 3-D part models.  Ability to interpret
ANSI/ISO
dimensioning and symbols, including geometric tolerancing.  Experience with conversational CNC programming a plus.  Ability to machine parts using verbal instructions and CAM software.  NIMS training a plus.  Experience working for a machine designer/builder a strong plus.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and MS Outlook preferred. Other Requirements  This position requires the use of standard machine shop hand tools and measuring devices (i.e.- 0-1" micrometer, scales, wrenches, etc.), some of which the employee is required to own or purchase. Personality/Social Skills/Work Ethic  A strong work ethic, spirit of cooperation and high moral and ethical standards are required.  Good communication skills (written and verbal) are required.  A positive, team-player attitude is required  Ability to multi-task and respond to quickly-changing requirements Working Conditions  Machine shop with occasional exposure to Omnitech's assembly area.  Ability to work independently and as a team. Physical Demands  Light duty lifting and other manual labor.
