Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise in mechanical blueprint interpretation, measurement tools, and machining techniques will ensure the highest quality standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing projects while honing your craftsmanship in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications with precision. Set up and operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce parts within tight tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensions and ensure quality control. Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for each machining task, maintaining proper machine setup. Perform manual machining operations with accuracy, including turning, boring, threading, and grinding metal components. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret mechanical blueprints and M-code instructions for machine adjustments when necessary. Assist in assembly processes by preparing machined parts for final assembly or further processing. Conduct routine inspections of finished parts using precision measurement tools to meet strict quality standards. Document machining processes, measurements, and inspection results accurately for quality records. Experience Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of machining tools such as lathes, grinders, mills, and hand tools. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Familiarity with CNC programming concepts including G-code and M-code is a plus but not mandatory; must be comfortable working alongside CNC operators. Experience with measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for quality control purposes. Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining tasks. Mechanical knowledge of metal properties and machining techniques required for producing high-quality components. Join us if you're passionate about craftsmanship in manufacturing! We value precision, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement—your skills will directly impact our production excellence while providing you with opportunities to grow your expertise in manual machining techniques.
