Job Description

Job Title:
Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Set-up Machinist with expertise in Vertical Mills. The shop is equipped with four vertical mills and one horizontal mill, operated on a 3-axis system. The ideal candidate should be able to independently set up machines and run parts, performing precise quality checks using various measurement tools. Familiarity with shop math and G&D is essential, and programming experience is highly desirable. Responsibilities Set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines. Perform quality checks on parts using precise measurement tools. Handle shop math and G&D with competence. Operate Fanuc controls on 3-axis machines. Collaborate with the team for efficient workflow. Essential Skills Experience with CNC machine set-up and operation. Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools. Understanding of milling processes and vertical mill operations. Minimum of one year experience in CNC set-up. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Programming skills are a plus. Previous experience in CNC machining and mill operations. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a small metal shop within a manufacturing company that builds electronics and components for government subcontractors. The shop operates with three machinists and offers a mix of long and short runs, focusing on low-volume, high-mix production with tight tolerances. Dress code includes jeans, boots, and a presentable shirt. The position operates on the first shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
