Description CK Composites was established in the 1950's and is located in Mount Pleasant, PA approximately forty miles southeast of Pittsburgh. CK is a manufacturer of highly engineered components used in a variety of markets including Electrical, Defense, Medical, and Transportation industries. The organization engineers and manufactures custom composite solutions from a variety of proprietary resin formulations, fiberglass reinforced plastic and densified laminated wood. Machinist We are growing rapidly at CK Composites and building an exciting and vibrant culture around our Core Value of "Respect for People." We are seeking front-line manufacturing team members to produce specialty components supporting the expansion of the electrical grid. CK Composites is seeking an experienced Machinist in the Woodshop on 3-1130pm or 11pm-730am. Woodshop Machinist Create parts to meet all required specifications through analysis of customer specification charts, drawings, and samples to gain a thorough understanding of requirements
Develop a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications
Set up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
Operate equipment to carry out each step correctly
Inspect finished parts for flaws and defects
Monitor the production process and intervening when problems arise
Measure and mark raw materials needed to manufacture parts
Maintain equipment and other duties as assigned Skills and abilities required for this position: Knowledge and understanding of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing
Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes, and milling machines
•Knowledge and understanding of standard GD&T (geometric, dimensioning, and tolerances)
Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on customer specifications
Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain stationary throughout a shift
Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
