Job Description

We are currently searching for a Sr. Machinist for our Springfield MO Facility. Employees in this classification are required to have an advanced understanding and competency in machine shop operations. Essential Job Functions Setup and operate CNC and/or manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, punching equipment and specialized or advanced equipment in order to perform precision machining operations (portable equipment) Ability to review and understand drawings, specifications, tolerances (including GD&T) Ability to machine surfaces within .001" consistently Plan the sequence of machining and finishing operations on complex projects Inspect parts to specifications on drawings using employee owned measuring tools Ability to read and understand tools including calipers, micrometers, depth gages, height gages, surface plates, bore gages, etc Prepare working sketches for the illustration of product appearance and then produce the parts accordingly Design fixtures, tooling and experimental parts as required to meet custom needs Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties and mathematics Fit and assemble parts to make or repair tools, jigs, fixtures, etc Program, setup, operate and maintain waterjet machining center to the highest proficiency and efficiency. Implement improvements to waterjet processes and procedures The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies) Knowledge of Paul Mueller Company general work procedures in regards to marking and tagging material with proper work order number and heat codes as required Advanced blueprint reading knowledge Advanced math skills Employees within the classification will be performing at the highest degree of proficiency/efficiency in the facility Education and Experience HS diploma or GED equivalent Previous Machine Shop experience or related technical training
Base Compensation Range:
$29.96 - $34.78 per hour
Shift Differential:
10%
Variable Compensation Range:
Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, handle, grasp or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Additional effort requirements consist of, but are not limited to, lifting, pushing and pulling material, stairs, and ladders. When there is an occasion to move heavy material greater than 50 pounds, the operator will request assistance from another operator, or utilize provided lifting equipment.
