Location:
Duncan, SC Pay Rate:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Schedules Available:
2nd
Shift:
3:00 PM-11:00 PM, plus $1.00/hr differential
3rd
Shift:
11:00 PM-7:30 AM, plus $1.25/hr differential
Weekend Shift:
Friday-Sunday, 5:00 AM-5:00 PM, paid for 40 hours Wabtec is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist for a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating multiple CNC machine tools while maintaining precision, quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Education Requirements Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology preferred
High school diploma or GED required Experience Requirements Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
Ability to interpret and edit CNC programs
Experience navigating FANUC controls
Knowledge of GD&T symbols and inspection methods
Understanding of shop math, trigonometry, and the Pythagorean theorem
Ability to read complex engineering blueprints, tool prints, and sketches
Knowledge of basic rigging, crane operation, and hoist safety Job Duties Set up and operate multiple CNC machine tools
Complete machining processes from initial setup through finished production
Edit CNC programs and adjust wear and geometry offsets
Use Renishaw probing systems
Set up and operate coordinate measuring machines
Inspect finished parts using gauges and engineering blueprints
Complete first-article inspections and documentation
Enter SPC data and adjust machining processes based on results
Troubleshoot equipment and production concerns
Perform scheduled equipment inspections
Maintain daily 5S standards
Support Kaizen, SMED, fixture design, and other continuous improvement activities Physical Capabilities Stand and walk throughout the shift
Frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds
Use hands and arms to operate tools, controls, and equipment
Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
