This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving mechanical problems and taking pride in producing quality work. The ideal candidate has experience with automotive, truck, heavy-duty or industrial driveline components, machining or fabrication. We are willing to train the right person who has a strong mechanical background and a desire to learn the driveshaft and driveline trade. Responsibilities Build, repair, modify and balance driveshafts for a variety of applications Disassemble and inspect driveshaft and driveline components Measure components and determine proper specifications Operate lathes, presses, balancing equipment, welders and other shop machinery Perform cutting, welding, machining and fabrication Install and service U-joints, yokes, slip yokes, flanges and other driveline components Work with steel, aluminum and other driveline materials Diagnose driveline problems and recommend appropriate repairs Work with automotive, performance, commercial, heavy-duty, off-road and specialty applications Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area Follow quality-control procedures to ensure properly built and balanced driveshafts Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship Qualifications Mechanical or machining experience preferred Driveshaft or driveline experience is a plus Welding and fabrication experience preferred Experience operating shop machinery and hand tools Ability to read measurements and use precision measuring tools Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Dependable, punctual and willing to learn Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work Must be able to lift and handle heavy components and work on your feet throughout the day What We Offer Full-time, year-round employment Competitive pay based on experience Health, Vision & Dental Insurance, 401(k) match & Paid Time Off Hands-on training and opportunities to learn specialized driveline skills Work with a wide variety of vehicles and applications Opportunity to develop machining, fabrication and driveline expertise A hands-on shop environment where quality workmanship matters The Right Fit We are looking for someone who wants to learn the trade, takes pride in their work and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.
