Job Description

Modern Forge, Piney Flats, TN, is accepting applications for a Manual Machinist. You will operate various pieces of manual machinery to repair or reproduce various components to assist in the repair of production and facilities equipment After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. Responsibilities Utilize a manual lathe, make bushing shafts and bolts. Utilize inside and outside mics to obtain precise measurements. Knowledge of thread pitches and threading procedures to manufacture bolts. Ability to utilize manual mills to fabricate equipment parts. Utilize engineering prints or defective parts to develop replacement parts. Ability to set up and machine part independently. Perform machinist duties as directed by the Maintenance Foreman or per the Priority Scheduling Board Work from equipment drawings or Engineering blueprints Make sketches of components not in blueprint files for Engineering's use in drawing new prints Provide accurate accounting of labor and parts used via IMaint work order system Assist other Maintenance personnel as required Maintain clear aisleways Keep work area clean and orderly at all times including maintaining clear isleways Follow all safety procedures and precautions Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED is required. 5 years proved experience as a manual machinist.
Additional Requirements:
Final candidates will be required to undergo a background check and a drug screening as part of the hiring process. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree in industrial technology Machine Tool Certificate Schedule 3rd shift Overtime as needed Weekends as needed

$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
